You could tell it was going to be intense when the teams started brawling before the game even started. Shortly after the above picture was taken, BYU players started to do their pre-game "Haka Dance" and Utah players would have none of that on our field - so they ran over to stop it and the refs and coaches had to pull them apart. Maybe the Coogers should have saved some of that fire and emotion for the actual playing of the game...
When we took our seats of course we had a bunch of Zoobies behind us. Anytime BYU did something good the whole section behind us would get really loud. Luckily that didn't happen very often. Toward the end of the game they of course brought out the 1984 national championship smack. C'mon BYU fans - live in the now!! (and cut that mullet).
The game was close until the beginning of the 4th quarter when BYU QB Max Hall decided to start throwing the ball to the guys in red instead of the guys in white. 5 interceptions and 1 lost fumble doomed the kitty-cats. After the last 2 years being ahead only to have the game ripped away from us at the last minute, it was nice to have a big cushion at the end so we could relax and have fun the last few minutes and chant BCS! BCS! over and over again.

WAY WAY WAY too much red on this blog. Please change it soon! Okay, the Cougars (pretty much the guy MH) gave this game away. The Cougs pretty much played like they had NOTHING to play for. Sad, sad, sad day for the Cougars of BYU. Good luck Utes and we'll meet again on the hardwood this winter.
I'm a little offended that the word COOGERS looks a little too much like BOOGERS. They played like BOOGERS against the Utes so I guess that it's fair, right?
Hey, at least they get to represent the MWC in a BCS bowl. Go Utes, and we'll see how they do against a real defense.
I'm just wondering what you are going to do someday when one of your kids decides to go to BYU. Or if they decide they NEVER want to go there because you've taught them that BYU is BAD? Well, the Utes deserved that win for sure. I am happy they won! (I usually root for whoever is winning if you didn't already figure that out)... I went to both schools you know. :)
To prove God is real there is always a chance, always redemption. I remember a day when your number one commenter would swear up and down he would NEVER go to BYU. Not only did he go there he got a PhD. Couldn't get enough of the Y apparently.
The point? There is hope for you and your children...
